Tardka Daal

INGREDIENT:

Masoor - 1/2 cup

Moong - 1/2 cup

Chana daal - 1/4 cup

onion - 1 small

tomato - 1

salt

red chillie powder

tumeric


For Bhagaar:

whole red chiilies

curry leaves

cumin seeds

green chillies

green corriander

chaat masala

lemon juice / tamarind pulp (imli)


Method:


  • Wash and soak daals for atleast an hour

  • Then transfer in patlili (pot) and let it cook on slow flame till properly tender.

  • Add onion and tomato cook till well blended

  • Add salt, turmeric and red chillie powder, If using Imli (tamarind pulp), add at this stage. Cook till well mixed.

  • Using your hand blender blend the daal mixture so it is smooth and nice & creamy.

  • Adjust water according to how thick or runny you like the daal.

  • Now for bhagar , put all things whole red chillies, cumin, sliced garlic, green chillies in frying pan, fry till garlic is light brown and pour the sizzling bhagar on to your daal

  • Serve with white rice and kuchumber (salad of onion, tomatoes, cucumber with lemon juice and chaat masala) and of course achaar. Yumm!!!!
