Thank you Nazia for sending this gorgeous Naan recipe and the video tutorial to show us how it is done đđ
Ingredients: 1. Flour - 5 cups 2. Yeast - 10 gms 3. Salt - to taste 4. Soda - 1/2 tsp 5. Oil - 3 Tblsps 6. Yogurt (for softness) - 2 Tblsps (I don't usually add yogurt they still turn out really soft) 7. Lukewarm water for kneading
Method: 1. In a bowl add all the above ingredients. 2. Knead with water. The dough should be soft and sticky. 3. Place in an slightly oiled airtight container. 4. Let it rest for 1 hour (it would double in volume, punch it down, cover again for another hour). 5. Make small balls. Roll one out on a lightly floured surface. 6. Heat tawa/skillet (make sure it's completely dry , no oil). 7. Take the rolled out naan in one hand spray water at one side (this side goes on the skillet/tawa & makes the naan stick to your skillet). 8. Place it on the skillet on medium heat. The naan will start bubbling on the top, that's when you flip your tawa/skillet over the flame (for it to cook from the top). 9. It gets a little tricky when you flip your tawa/skillet. That's when you know that you have to wet the side completely for it to stick to the tawa. Or your naan might fall straight in the flame and get burnt, might take a few trials but you'll get the hang of it. Please check the video to find how this process is done. 10. Your home made Naans are ready. 11. For garlic naan: Spread little butter and chopped garlic some finely chopped coriander leaves on your hot naan. Enjoy!!!! đđ
