Recipe Credits - Foodistan Travels
Ingredients:
100 g spinach (boiled and mashed)
100g red lentils (dhuli masoor daal) (soaked for 60-120 minutes)
1 large onion (julien cut)
1 tsp cumin seeds 8-10 black pepper corns
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp cumin powdersalt to taste
2 tbsp oil
For seasoning:
3 cloves garlic (diced)
1 green chili2 tbsp oil
Method:
Take a cooking pot, heat oil and add onions.Add cumin seeds and pepper corns and stir for 2 minutes.Add Spinach and allthe spices. Roast it for 5 minutes.Then add lentils and mix it well.Add 400-500 ml hot water.Cover the lid and cook it for 15 minutes on medium to high heat.After 15 minutes, check the consistency and remove the pot from the heat. For Seasoning: Take a frying pan. Add oil and garlic. Roast it until golden brown.also add green chili.Add the seasoning into the platter or pot before serving.Serve this with crotons (Click the link below for the recipe) Also, serve with Rice or Chapati (flat bread).
