Zeera Biscuits

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 6 tablespoons vegetable shortening

  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 small egg

  • 1 teaspoon crushed or whole cumin seeds


DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Beat vegetable shortening along with sugar and egg until combined.

  • Mix sifted flour along with baking powder, cumin, salt by hand to make a dough.

  • On a cutting board, place wax paper over dough and roll into 1/8 inch with rolling pin.

  • Using a cookie cutter cut into desired shapes. Repeat until dough is all used.

  • Place on ungreased cookie tray. Bake for 15 minutes.
