Naan Khatai ❤️

Recipe for 20-25 biscuits.

Preheat the oven at 180°/ heat your pot for stove baking.


Ingredients:


  1. 2 cups of flour (Maida)

  2. 1/4th cup powdered sugar (you can always adjust it. I often check my raw batter and adjust the sweetness level)❤️

  3. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  4. 1 tbsp suji,

  5. Elaichi powder k 2 pinch,

  6. Ghee half cup+2 tbsp or more for binding


METHOD:

  1. Gently mix everything. Do not knead. Just mix and gather to a smooth dough.

  2. Add ghee to bind.

  3. Add 1-2 tbsp of ghee if your dough is still crumby.

  4. Make medium sized balls from the dough.

  5. Roll them evenly in your palms. Slightly flatten them.

  6. Press almonds/ nuts on the top lightly.

  7. Give a egg yolk wash over it.

  8. Place the nan khatai in a baking tray/steel plate. keep some space between them as they expand while baking.

  9. Bake them for 20-25 mins till light golden. Same for stove baking.

  10. Remove and place them on a cooling rack.

  11. When cooled, store the nankhatai in an air tight container. They stay fresh for a month. Enjoy!
