🍯Medovnik ~ Honey Cake 🍯

✍🏼Recipe✍🏼


Cake Layer Ingredients

1. 450g all purpose flour

2. 1tsp baking soda

3. 4 egg

4. 100g butter

5. 6 tbsps Honey

6. 1/2 Brown/white sugar


Cake Steps:

1. Mix the sugar with eggs and beat until creamy.

2. Add butter and honey. Melt and mix it on double boiler.

3. Add baking soda and mix.

4. Gradually add flour and fold it well.

5. When the consistency become thick and hard.

6. Sprinkle flour on shelf and knead the batter until in turns into firm silky dough.

7. Divide the dough into 8 equal balls. Cover them with cloth and leave it for 15 minutes.

8. Roll each ball on a baking paper and cut into round.

9. Bake each layer for a few minutes (around 5-75min) – be careful not to over bake or over heat (you will find the cake somewhat dry)

10. 10. Bake the leftovers of the dough and finely chop.

Cream Filling:

1. 300g fresh cream

2. 2 tbsp vanilla essence

3. 1/2 cup sugar

4. 1 pack (8g vanilla sugar)

Cream Steps:

1. Add cream, sugar, vanilla essence and vanilla sugar.

2. Beat the cream until whipped.

Assembling Steps:

Once the layers have been baked and cream has been done follow these steps:

1. Starting with a cake layer, spread on some of the cream filling l

2. Add another cake, then more cream filling

3. Repeat these steps until you have spread cream on the 8th layer of cake

4. Spread the crumbs on top and sides of the cream filling

5. Let the cake sit, covered in the fridge, for at least 8-10 hours so that the cream seeps into the cake

This cake doesn’t keep very well beyond a day, so make sure it is eaten up.
