Turkey Thanks Giving Dinner Recipes

Turkey recipe


For 12-18lb turkey, marinate turkey in 1 quart buttermilk for 1 day this will keep your turkey moist, no need to put butter or Mayo.


Next day throw the buttermilk in the pan and take 3 Shan tikka masalas,1/2 cup vinegar, 2 Tbsp corriander seeds. Blend everything together and marinate the turkey for another day.

I always bake my turkey in reynold oven bags that’s my tip.


At 400F in the oven bag, turkey is ready in 2 hours no need to baste.



Cranberry sauce

1pack cranberries

2 cups orange juice

11/2cup sugar

Dash of cinnamon

Dash of salt

Cook everything together till the sauce thickens and cranberries start to burst


Garlic butter

1 stick butter

Bunch of Italian parsley

4 cloves garlic

Salt

Mix in a food processor.

Used store bought corn bread.


Mashed potatoes


Boil 6 potatoes with skin off. When tender and only cup water is remaining, add stick of butter, bouillon cube, and start mashing potatoes, add salt, Parmesan cheese less than 1/4 cup and basil leaves. Mix.


Sweet potato chaat

Instead of mashed sweet potatoes, I made chaat. Soften the sweet potatoes in microwave for 5 mins. When cool, peel the skin, cut cubes, add chopped red onion, salt, red pepper, pomegranate seeds frm a whole pomegranate, a can of chickpeas and date tamarind chutney. Mix.


Pavalova


1 pack of egg whites(mine was equivalent to14 egg whites)

In a mixer, whip the egg whites until soft peaks form,

add 2 cups sugar,

2Tbsp vinegar,

1/4 tsp cream of tarter,

2Tbsp corn starch. Mix.


In a greased dish pour the mixture. Bake it on the lowest mark of ur oven for 1 and a 1/2 hour.

My oven is electric so I did it on 200F, if using gas oven then use 170F after 11/2 hr, close the heat it and leave it in the oven for 2 more hours. Don’t peek. This step is important.

After 2 hours take it out and pour less sweetened cream over it. Decorate with fruits.
