Tandoori Chicken Pulao

Method for chicken marination


Take a bowl add 1 kg Chicken add 1tbsp ginger garlic paste, tandoori masala of any brand 4tbsp, roasted and crushed cumin 1tbsp, lemon juice 4tbsp, yogurt 1 cup .. marinate and leave it for 2 hours.


Take a pan add 4tbsp oil put marinated chicken and cook till done. Take out the chicken pieces and reserve the masala.




Method for rice


In a big pot add 1/2cup oil and add 1 medium size onion slices and fry till light goldenish add the reserved masala from chicken, 2 chicken stock cubes 2.5 cups and let it boil then add 500gms of soaked Basmati rice, cook it on high flames till water evaporates.. add hand full of mint and coriander leaves and cooked tandoori chicken at this stage add coal smoke cover and put ithe rice on dum..


PS potatoes are optional and I do add on my pulao and biryani .. boil with salt and zarda food colour then deep fry.


Serve with salad and raita.
