INGREDIENTS
Meat 1/2 kg - Boiled and made tender With some salt, garlic ginger and all whole spices
Onions 1/2 kg (5 - 6) sliced and fried and kept aside - Donot use ready made onions
zeera 1 tsp
Crushed red chillies - 1Tbsp
Tomatoes - 5 - 6 blended
Shaan Kardhai Masala - 1 Tbsp
Home made Karhai Masala - 2 Tbsp
green Chillies - 5. 6
salt
oil
green corriander
lemon juice
Karhai Masala Recipe: (from Dia Ansari recipes)
Roasted crushed corriander seeds 1 tbsp
Roasted crushed cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Roasted crushed chilli flakes 1 tbsp
Whole Blackpepper 1 tbsp
Chaat masala 1 tbsp
Black salt 1 tsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Khatai powder 1 tsp
Dry fenugreek leaves 1 tsp
Roast Corriander, Cumin, Blackpepper, and Chillie flakes and grind them.
Mix with rest of the spices and keep aside .
METHOD:
Fry zeera and crushed red chillies.
Add blended tomatoes.
Leave the tomato water to dry and then bhoonafy till oil seperates.
Add prepared meat and bhoonafy.
Add Karhai masala and fry.
Add little water to prevent drying.
Now add fried onions and green chillies, give it a good stir.
Put on dum on low flame. Your onion will now disintegrate and become all mixed up with tomato masala.
Put a tawa under the pateeli and let it dum for 10 min or so.
Add some lemon juice and green corriander
Readyyyy!!! Serve it with naan / roti / paratha, raitaa and salad and enjoy yummilicious piayaazi Karhai gosht 😋❤️
Note - You can make this recipe with Chicken, in this case do not boil the chicken but just steam it a little which should be enough.
