Masalaydaar Beef Yakhni Pulao

This delicious Yakhni Pulao is simple to make and is packed with flavour with a touch of spiciness. This is one of my Fav recipe!! :)

For yakhni

  1. Beef 1 kg,

  2. salt 2 tsp,

  3. whole coriander seeds,

  4. cumin, saunf, 2 tbsp each.

  5. 2 star anise,

  6. 2 stick cinnamon,

  7. 10-12 black peppercorns,

  8. 2 big cardamom,

  9. 2 cloves

  10. 1 leaf javitri,

  11. and a small piece of nutmeg.

  12. 2 big onion cut in four pieces,

  13. 1 whole pod garlic and

  14. 2 inch ginger...

Method:


Boil all the above mentioned ingredients in 1and a half litre water till meat gets tender. Then strain the yakhni discard the ingredients and save the meat.


Soak 750 grams good quality basmati rice for half an hour.


In a big wide mouthed pan fry 2 medium sliced onions till golden brown add little amount of yakhni to stop further browning of onion

Add in 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp kutti laal mirch,1 tsp kuta dhania zeera, 1 tsp garam masala, 2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste.

Saute till oil separates then add in meat and fry for 5 to 10 minutes and 4 half boiled potatoes cut in 4s.

Add in 1 cup yoghurt and 10 big green chillies cut in halves. Saute till some of the water of yoghurt dries out.

Add soaked rice give a good stir and add in yakhni... adjust the amount of yakhni if less by adding little water.

First keep on high flame till rice in half done then put on dum for 20 minutes on low flame.

Serve hot with vegetable raita and green salad.
