Loved this spicy Karhai recipe by Diya Ansari, gave it a try it came out yummy šŸ˜‹ šŸ˜


Ingredients


Chicken karahi cut 1kg

Ginger garlic 1tbsp finely chopped

Onion 3tbsp finely chopped

Tomatoes 1/2kg (blanched nd chopped)

Red chilli powder 1tsp

Cumin powder 1tbsp

Crushed coriander seeds 1tsp

Turmeric powder 1/4tsp

Yogurt 1/2cup

Tikka masala 2tbsp

Salt 1/2tsp

Garam masala powder 1tsp

Karri leaves 8

Red button chillies 8

Dry fenugreek leaves 1tsp

Julian ginger nd green chillies for garnish

Clarified butter 1/2cup

One large coal to smoke


Method


1. Heat clarified butter fry onion to lightish gold.

2. Then add ginger garlic and red button chillies and fry them.

3. Add tomatoes and cook till tomatoes get tender and soft.

4. Add red chilli powder cumin turmeric coriander bhunofy well.

5. Now add chicken and tikka masala , fry well.

6. Cover and cook for 8-10mins, add water if needed.

7. Afterwards add yogurt, salt, karri leaves , bhunofy well till oil separates .

8. Lastly add fenugreek leaves, Garam masala powder, green chillies, lemon juice and julian ginger .

9. Add coal smoke in last


Serve with taftaan or qulcha
